Worshiping our God is an essential component of life at Knox. It is an opportunity for the whole community to gather to praise the living God, to pray, to be uplifted by the message as it pertains to our daily lives, and to be inspired as we seek to live out the exciting gospel invitation to love God and our neighbour.<\/b><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p><\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Each Sunday we welcome everyone to join us in worship in a reverent and respectful but not too formal way. The service is lead by our minister, Rev. Tom Woods. Music in the service is supported by our choir and either our recently installed Casavant Organ, or our Grand Piano. At times we have guest musicians providing accompaniment with other instruments, guitar, flute oboe clarinet etc.<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p> Our services are live streamed on Facebook. They are available for 30 days after the service and may be viewed by checking our recorded services, or by visiting our Facebook<\/u><\/em><\/a><\/span><\/u><\/em><\/a><\/span> page.<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n During the service we offer an active space for young children know as our “Prayground.”<\/span><\/p>\n Stay for a cup of tea, or coffee, and a chat after the service. We’d love to get to know you better.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n Holy Communion is celebrated a number of times throughout the year:<\/font><\/p> World Wide Communion Sunday (first Sunday in October)<\/font><\/p> The First Sunday in Advent<\/font><\/p> Christmas Eve<\/font><\/p> Maundy Thursday<\/font><\/p> Easter Sunday<\/font><\/p> Several other Sundays during the remainder of the year.<\/font><\/p> Over the Advent season we hold services every Sunday at 10.30 as well as a Family service on Christmas Eve which includes Communion. Usually close to Christmas the choir will present a Christmas Cantata<\/b><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n During Lent we hold services on Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter morning. Also there is often a Choir cantata held during the season, sometimes as part of the Good Friday Service or as part of the Palm Sunday Service.<\/b><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p> Jesus said to them, \u2018Whoever welcomes in my name one of these little children, welcomes Me.\u2019 Mark 9:36-37 Knox United is a baptizing Church. When someone seeking personal baptism or baptism for their child, chooses this Church we feel both honoured and blessed to have the opportunity to perform the Sacrament of Baptism. We welcome all to our church family! The minister invites parents who wish to have their child baptized to\u00a0 explore the significance of Baptism.\u00a0 Adults are welcome and encouraged to be baptized as well. This can be done at the same time as the baptism of a child or may be done as a culmination of the confirmation process. The Sacrament of Baptism is part of the Regular Sunday Service\u2028(usually the 3rd Sunday of each month). They need the encouragement, nurture, support and accountability of community. Thus, covenants of Marriage and Life Partnership are public. In the Church we celebrate such covenants in the context of the public worship of God.<\/b><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p> We welcome those couples known to the Knox Church Community who wish to be married in our church. The staff at Knox United Church does everything possible to make each wedding a personal service of celebration and worship.<\/b><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p> All couples seeking to be married at Knox must meet with the Minister for pre-marital counseling and instruction in the meaning of Christian marriage and family. Our sanctuary is equipped with a hearing aid loop. We also have some “listeners” which can be used to assist in hearing for those who have hearing aids hat are not equipped with the T coil, or who simply want a bit of help hearing the service. Speak to the person on the sound board at the back to ask about these.<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>
