Our Church

People are the heart of Knox United Church but we are also proud of our wonderful facilities that are used to the glory of God is so many ways. You can find us in the heart of Lower Sackville at 567 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.

Worship Space Our large and beautiful worship space has a seating capacity of 400. Eight stained glass windows depicting bible stories were lovingly restored from our original sanctuary and now add to the beauty of this sacred space. At the front the pipes of the organ rise above the Communion table and at the back a majestic cross hangs above the sanctuary doors. The original organ was replaced in 2023 with a Casavant organ which was completely rebuilt by organ builder Colin Walsh..

Freedom Kitchen & Closet

Freedom Kitchen and Closet is a major aspect of outreach to our community. Every Monday free meals are provided for those in our community that need them. Meals are also delivered to many in and around the neighbourhood. On other days various food items are distributed as part of our involvement in a Food recovery program.

Selections of winter clothing are supplied as well.

The Sanctuary is versatile enough to be able to accommodate concerts. The pulpits can be moved aside to provide a performance space. We have hosted several large bands and orchestras including Men of the Deep, the Sackville Community Concert Band, Bedford Leisure Orchestra, Sackville High School Band,  and groups and individual artists, like Heather Rankin and Jen Sheppard. Keep an eye on the web site and our Facebook page to learn of upcoming concerts.

Other Space

We also have a gym, fully equipped kitchen and a number of meeting rooms on the three levels of our building. The sanctuary, office, church hall and basement entrances are wheelchair accessible and the property has ample parking. Use of Space At Knox we believe it is part of our mission to offer space for the community to gather and many groups use the facilities on a regular basis. During weekdays Lower Sackville Day Care operates out of the main level. Rental fees are reasonable, and are used to cover the cost of maintaining the buildings and our presence in the community. Groups or individuals who are looking for more information on booking policies and fees are welcome to contact the church office.Space is dependent upon availability.
