We are glad that God brought you here. If you are looking for a place to rest, to grow, to heal, to be challenged, to offer your gifts, there is a place for you in Knox United Church. This website offers a snapshot of who we are and what we do. Knox is a vibrant community - there is always lots happening! Look for updates on activities through Sunday morning announcements. The weekly E-Blast, This Week at Knox (weekly), our website, and the church signs.We would love to get to know you over coffee or tea after our 10:30 a.m. service in our gathering hall, which is also called the narthex. Our vision... We the congregation of Knox United Church publicly proclaim our commitment in becoming an open and welcoming community of faith. We are declaring we are welcoming to everyone regardless of age, race, ability, sexual orientation and gender identity. Everyone is welcome here. Through the process of honouring diversity and challenging injustice with those who bear the weightof discrimination, we commit ourselves to openness, growth, education, love and acceptance.

John Lindsay-Botten - Director of Music and Worship Arts

John Lindsay-Botten
A Music grad of Mt. A (’93), John Lindsay-Botten has been active in church music since he was 11, and since 2004 in Greater Halifax, John’s been involved with St. Andrew’s and Bedford United Churches, Calvin Presbyterian Church and the Cathedral Church of All Saints, to name a few.  
He is also a private music instructor, professional vocalist, actor, composer and arranger, as well as husband to Vanessa and father to Mariella and Barrett.  Lastly, he founded and continues to direct the East Coast Carolling Co., bringing holiday harmonies to Halifax and beyond.
