Local musical artists David Muise and Mel Farrimond join forces to present Songs and Stories of Scotland and Ireland at Knox United Church in Lower Sackville on Sunday March 8th, 2026 at 4pm.
Mel Farrimond is a Scottish-born singer-songwriter who was a recent 'Best Songwriter' nominee in The Coast's Best of Halifax Awards. She has performed in North America and the UK, and has produced song circles, including Songbird North for the Songwriters' Association of Canada.
David Muise is a singer songwriter from Cape Breton whose roots run deep in the Irish storytelling tradition through song. David has released an EP and two full length CDs of original music and is currently preparing to record an original collection of mining songs. David tells stories in his songs which make him perfect for performing these old Irish classics. From a Scottish tradition, David is a former member of the Pipes and Drums of Clan Farquharson and was a member of the Colchester Legion Pipes and Drums during their tour of Holland for the 65th Anniversary of the Liberation of that country from WWII.
